2008 Ford Crown Victoria Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2008 Ford Crown Victoria covers the four-door sedan with the 4.6L SOHC V8 of 281 cubic inches, naturally aspirated and run on flex-fuel or gasoline, in five trims: Base, Fleet, LWB, LX and Police Interceptor. Procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics are organized by system, beginning with the V8 and its fuel system and continuing through the front hubs and bearings, suspension, steering column, brakes and body electrical circuits. The engine is common to all five trims, so the figures do not change from one to the next.

Known issues on the 2008 Crown Victoria. The federal record lists three recalls for the 2008 Crown Victoria. A front wheel bearing and hub assembly may fracture from improper heat treatment, leaving the wheel held only by the brake caliper, and the two steering column recalls cover an upper intermediate shaft that can separate after incorrect service and a lower bearing that can come apart on cars from certain states. Owners have filed 50 complaints with NHTSA, 25 of them on steering, ten on vehicle speed control and five on the electrical system. Front hub procedures, steering column torque values and speed control diagnostics match those complaints.
