2002 Ford Crown Victoria Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2002 Ford Crown Victoria covers five trims of the four-door sedan, Base, LWB, LX, Police Interceptor and S, all with the 4.6L SOHC V8, naturally aspirated and set up for gasoline or CNG. The LWB and Police Interceptor cars share the engine with the rest, so the procedures, specifications and torque values for the V8 are common to all five, and the wiring diagrams and diagnostics cover the two fuel systems, the suspension, brakes, steering and body electrics. For the natural gas cars, the fuel storage and delivery procedures are specific and are covered here.

Known issues on the 2002 Crown Victoria. Five recalls are on the federal record for the 2002 Crown Victoria, most of them fuel-related. On natural gas cars a T-fitting between two of the tanks can leak whenever the solenoid valves are energized, the tank behind the rear seat can be weakened by flame from an interior fire, and aftermarket fuel filters can leak at a quick connector that never fully seats. Owners have filed 103 complaints with NHTSA, with the suspension at 13, the power train at 11 and the fuel system at 10. Fuel system procedures for both fuels, suspension specifications and transmission diagnostics cover that ground.
