Known issues on the 2008 Accord. Nine recalls are on federal record for this model year. Six of them cover the passenger frontal air bag inflator module across separate service actions: inflators installed incorrectly may not deploy properly in a crash, and others can rupture outright and send metal fragments into the cabin. A separate recall covers the air bag control unit, which can corrode and fail so the air bags may not deploy in a crash. Another covers the automatic transmission's secondary shaft bearing, where a broken outer race can trigger an engine stall or let the car roll after the selector is placed in park. The last covers an aftermarket front nose mask accessory that can snag the hood's secondary latch and let the hood pop open while driving.
