Eight of them trace back to the same passenger frontal air bag inflator: on most cars the inflator itself can rupture, sending sharp metal fragments into the cabin and risking serious injury or death, while on cars that had already received a replacement inflator, that part was in some cases installed incorrectly and may not deploy properly in a crash. The ninth recall covers V6 Accords whose front suspension bolts and spindle nuts may not have been torqued to spec, which can produce excess noise or a loss of steering.
