Known issues on the 2007 Accord. Ten recalls are on federal record for this model year, most of them tied to driver and passenger frontal air bag inflators: propellant degradation and, separately, improperly installed or non-compliant passenger modules that can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, risking serious injury or death. A recall on replacement accelerator pedal assemblies covers a rotating portion that can bind, keeping the engine from returning to idle and raising crash risk. The automatic transmission's secondary shaft bearing can break; broken pieces can short-circuit the transmission and stall the engine, or become lodged in the parking pawl, letting the vehicle roll after the gear selector is placed in Park. On V6 models, a power steering hose can deteriorate and leak fluid onto the hot catalytic converter, leading to smoke or an under-hood fire. Owners have filed 524 complaints for the year.
