2005 Chevrolet Express 3500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2005 Chevrolet Express 3500 speaks to a chassis that rarely leaves the factory as its final self: alongside the three-door cargo and passenger vans in standard and extended lengths sits the two-door cutaway, delivered for someone else to finish. The engines are three naturally aspirated overhead-valve V8s, a 4.8L of 294 cubic inches, a 5.3L of 325 and a 6.0L of 364 that can also be specified for compressed natural gas. Base and LS are the trims.

Known issues on the 2005 Express 3500. Eight recalls touch this year, most of them on wheelchair lifts fitted after the van left Chevrolet: interlocks and threshold sensors that may not detect a person on the platform, so the lift can move or stow while occupied. One covers a high-mounted stop lamp whose lens passes too little light for following drivers to read the brakes, and one covers front and rear belt buckles that will not latch or will not unlatch. Complaints total 59, led by nine on the structure, eight on service brakes and six on tires.
