2001 Chevrolet Express 3500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2001 Chevrolet Express 3500 has an unusual three-engine spread to explain: an 8.1L V8 of 496 cubic inches, a turbocharged 6.5L diesel V8 of 395, and a 5.7L V8 of 350 able to run on compressed natural gas as well as gasoline. Known issues on the 2001 Express 3500. The federal record carries one recall, on replacement oil filters that may not seal and can let the engine shed its oil, raising a fire risk. Eleven complaints are logged, led by three on tires, then two each on the service brakes and on engine and cooling. Those last two point straight into sections a technician uses often: coolant flow and thermostat testing, radiator and fan diagnosis, brake hydraulic specifications and bleeding order, plus torque values for hub, caliper and wheel fasteners.
