Known issues on the 1999 Pathfinder. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two cover aftermarket combination corner and bumper lamp assemblies sold for use on this vehicle that lack the required amber side reflectors, which can leave it poorly illuminated and increase crash risk; a third covers similarly non-conforming aftermarket corner lamps, turn signals, and headlights for the same reason. Another covers the front strut housing, which can crack and pull away from the inner hood ledge in road-salt regions, leading to grinding noises, increased steering effort, and possible loss of steering control. The last covers the fuel filler tube, where insufficient coating at the lower mounting bracket can allow corrosion and, in salt-belt states, fuel leakage.
