Known issues on the 2015 Pathfinder. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the Occupant Classification System: the front passenger sensor can misclassify an adult occupant as a child or as an empty seat. A second, related recall covers vehicles that received an incorrect OCS control unit during a repair, which can likewise read the passenger seat as empty when it is occupied by an adult, deactivating the passenger air bag and keeping it from deploying in a crash. A third covers front wheel hub assembly fasteners installed under-torqued at the factory, which can let a brake caliper separate from the wheel and reduce braking or steering control. A fourth covers the brake light switch, whose relay can stick on, keeping the brake lights illuminated and interfering with the brake-shift interlock so the vehicle can be shifted out of Park without the brake pedal depressed. A fifth covers the secondary hood latch, which can fail to secure and let the hood open while driving. Owners have filed 320 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins are logged for it. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
From an OCS air bag fault to a hood latch or hub fastener inspection, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2015 Pathfinder.
