The third-row headrests may have an improper weld or misaligned internal components, allowing them to move or detach and reducing occupant protection in a crash. Second-row seat back frames may have insufficient welds that separate, so seat backs can fail to restrain occupants during a crash. Insufficient welds may also let the secondary hood latch retainer bracket detach from the front bumper, so a hood without its primary latch engaged can fly open and obstruct the driver's view. A missing mounting bolt on the second-row seat track can let the track move during a crash. And on certain rental-fleet units, an infotainment head unit reboot triggered by the Sirius XM subscription status can leave the rearview camera display inoperative, cutting rear visibility.
