Known issues on the 2005 Pathfinder. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the front and rear lower control link collars, where an improper weld can separate and let handling deteriorate, possibly causing a crash. The second covers the intelligent power distribution module's ECM relay, where silicon vapor can build up on the relay contact and cause engine stalling. The third covers the front crash zone sensor, where road salt and snow melt can intrude and, in areas that use heavy road-salt concentrations, keep the driver and passenger front air bags from deploying in a crash. The fourth covers aftermarket Hopkins trailer brake control harnesses with a miswired connector that routes power to the dash light circuit instead of the trailer brakes, reducing the vehicle's ability to stop. Consequence
IF THE COLLAR WELD SEPARATES, THE VEHICLE HANDLING WILL DETERIORATE, POSSIBLY RESULTING IN A VEHICLE CRASH.
Remedy
NISSAN WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND DEALERS WILL REPLACE ANY AFFECTED LOWER LINK FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL BEGAN ON JULY 12, 2010. OWNERS MAY CONTACT NISSAN AT 1-800-647-7261.

Consequence
