Known issues on the 2013 Pathfinder. Eleven recalls are on federal record for this model year. The occupant classification system could misclassify an occupied passenger seat as empty and deactivate the passenger airbag, a defect tied to the OCS software, its control unit and its sensors across separate campaigns. The CVT's internal oil cooler hose could detach from inadequate clamping force and leak transmission fluid, causing the vehicle to lose acceleration. A brake light switch installed incorrectly could stick the relay in the "ON" position, leaving the brake lights illuminated and interfering with the brake-shift interlock so the vehicle could be shifted out of Park without the brake depressed, a defect covered twice. The hood release cable and, separately, the secondary hood latch could fail to secure the hood, letting it open and obstruct the driver's view. The ABS brake pressure output software could increase stopping distance on rough roads during light braking, and an improperly cast front brake torque member could crack and let the caliper contact the wheel, reducing braking. Owners have filed 890 complaints for the year and Nissan has issued no technical service bulletins. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
From an OCS airbag fault to a hood latch check or a CVT cooler line inspection, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2013 Pathfinder.
