1991 Nissan Maxima Service and Repair Manual
This 1991 Nissan Maxima factory service and repair manual is built around the year, engine and trim actually stamped on your car, so the torque values and diagnostic steps you follow are the ones Nissan published for the 3.0L V6 (VG30E) in your Maxima, not a generic figure pulled from a different model year.

Known issues on the 1991 Maxima. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year: three cover aftermarket combination corner and bumper lamp assemblies sold as replacement parts for the Maxima and other vehicles, each batch built without the required amber side reflectors, which decreases lighting visibility and can lead to a crash without warning. The fourth covers the fuel filler tube, where trapped mud and salt can corrode the tube and the wheel housing it shares with the left rear seat belt retractor mount, raising the risk of a fuel leak or a retractor mount failure in a crash. Owners have filed 85 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins are logged. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
Whether you're inspecting lamp assemblies for the missing reflectors or checking the fuel filler tube and wheel housing for corrosion, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 1991 Maxima.
