Known issues on the 1991 Accord. Twelve recalls are on federal record for this model year. Nine of them cover aftermarket headlamp, corner-lamp and combination-lamp assemblies sold for use on the Accord that are missing the required amber side reflex reflectors, which decreases lighting visibility to other drivers and can contribute to a crash. The remaining three are factory issues: the rear outside seat belts can lock up at angles outside the federal standard, increasing the risk of injury in a sudden stop or crash; the front seat belt buckle's red "PRESS" release button can break and let fragments fall into the buckle assembly, causing it to operate improperly; and a washer in the cargo-area light that isn't properly attached can short the three-position switch when it's set to the middle position with the tailgate open, risking a cargo compartment fire.
