Known issues on the 1990 Accord. Twelve recalls are on federal record for this model year, and ten of them trace back to the same root cause: aftermarket headlamp and combination corner/bumper lamp assemblies sold as replacement parts for the Accord that were built without the required amber side reflex reflectors, a gap that reduces lighting visibility to other drivers and raises the risk of a crash. The remaining two cover the factory seat belts: the rear outside safety belts could lock at angles that fall outside federal anchorage requirements, and the front safety belt buckle's red plastic release button could break, letting broken pieces fall into the buckle and keep it from operating properly.
