1987 Honda Accord Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 1987 Accord. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the gasoline fuel system: damage to the plastic coating on the fuel filler or breather pipe can let salt water reach the steel pipe underneath, corroding it through and allowing gasoline fumes and fuel to leak near a possible ignition source. The second covers the front seat belt buckles, whose red "PRESS" release buttons can break and shed pieces into the buckle assembly, so the belt no longer latches or protects an occupant properly in a crash. The third covers the owner's manual itself, which shipped missing the information required by FMVSS 210, sections 6A and 6B. Owners have filed 126 complaints for the year. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
From a fuel filler pipe inspection to a front seat belt buckle check, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 1987 Accord.
