2022 Toyota 4Runner Service and Repair Manual

Every figure in this factory service and repair manual for the 2022 Toyota 4Runner was published by Toyota for this exact year, engine and trim, so the clearances and torque sequences you work to on the 4.0L V6 (1GR-FE) are the ones written for your truck rather than a number carried over from an adjacent model year.

Known issues on the 2022 4Runner. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first, from Southeast Toyota Distributors, covers exterior lighting: on vehicles that received accessory fog lights, the driver's side high beam may be inoperable afterward, and an inoperable driver's side high beam may reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash. The second, also from Southeast Toyota Distributors, covers 4Runners equipped with 20-inch Black Gunner Wheels, whose load carrying capacity modification labels are incorrect; an incorrect label may lead to unintentionally overloading the vehicle. The third, from Gulf States Toyota, covers load carrying capacity modification labels that may not be permanent and can fade, and an illegible label may allow the vehicle to be overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash. Owners have filed 55 complaints for the year and Toyota has issued 92 technical service bulletins.

Whether you are tracing a high beam that stopped working after an accessory install, confirming the load carrying figures for your wheel and trim combination, or servicing the 4.0L V6 on schedule, you work to the OEM procedure and the specification Toyota set for the 2022 4Runner.
