Known issues on the 2018 4Runner. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first, from Southeast Toyota Distributors, covers steering and suspension components that may not have been properly tightened during installation on certain 2018-2019 4Runners; loose fasteners may cause a loss of vehicle control. The second covers the gasoline fuel pump: if the fuel pump fails, the engine can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. Owners have filed 77 complaints for the year and Toyota has issued 102 technical service bulletins.
