Toyota built the 2021 Sienna around a single powertrain, the 2.5L four (A25A-FXS) in hybrid form, sold across five trims. Toyota's own service and repair information for that year is what this manual follows, so the figures a technician works to are the ones published for the 2021 van rather than for an adjacent model year.

Known issues on the 2021 Sienna. Two recalls are on federal record for this model year. Vantage Mobility, LLC recalled certain Sienna vehicles equipped with QRT-Deluxe and QRT-Max wheelchair restraints, an equipment fault in the restraint securement latch: an unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury. Toyota's own recall covers the electronic stability control module software, where driving with a deactivated stability control system increases the risk of a crash. NHTSA lists no owner complaints for the 2021 Sienna, and Toyota has issued 90 technical service bulletins for this van.
A hybrid-only minivan carrying a software recall against its stability control system is not one to guess at. The specification a technician needs is the one Toyota published for the 2021 Sienna, and that is what this manual is built on.
