Known issues on the 2007 Sienna. Seven recalls sit on the federal record for this model year. One is a power train campaign on the automatic transmission, filed for the case where the shift lever is moved out of the Park position without the brake applied. Four are labeling campaigns: in the first, the GVWR is insufficient for the load carrying capacity of the vehicles; in the second, incorrect load carrying capacity modification labels could result in the vehicle being overloaded; a third, from Southeast Toyota, warns that a driver may overload a vehicle, which may increase the risk of a crash; and a fourth, from Gulf States Toyota, covers vehicles that fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, on tire selection and rims. A structural recall covers a cable that may break due to excessive corrosion, after which the spare tire may separate from the vehicle. The seventh is a front seat heater campaign: if damaged, the copper strand heating element may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire. Owners have filed 448 complaints against the 2007 Sienna, and 112 technical service bulletins have been issued for it.
Whether it is a shift lever that leaves Park without the brake applied, a cable corroded far enough that the spare tire can drop away, or a seat heater circuit that has to come apart, the work stays on Toyota's own procedure and the figures published for the 2007 Sienna.
