Known issues on the 2011 Sienna. Eleven recalls are on federal record for this model year. Three concern the vehicle placard and tire loading label: incorrect information on the placard may lead to tire overloading, an inaccurate label could lead to owners overloading their vehicles and tires, and in the third a driver may overload a vehicle, which may increase the risk of a crash. Two cover the frontal passenger side airbag inflator module, where in the earlier campaign an inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants and in the later one an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants. One covers the power sliding door: if the door opens while the vehicle is moving, there would be an increased risk of injury. One covers the front passenger seat occupant sensing system, which may be out of calibration. One covers the A-pillar trim panel, where a damaged retention clip may allow the trim panel to come loose. One covers the brake stop lamp switch, mounted on a small bracket welded on the left side of the service brake pedal support assembly, which could result in brake drag with associated brake noise and vibration. One covers the front right drive shaft, which may break during vehicle operation and leave the vehicle without power. The last covers the front seat heater, where a damaged copper strand heating element may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire. Owners have filed 812 complaints against the 2011 Sienna, and 132 technical service bulletins have been issued for it.
