Known issues on the 2016 Sienna. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two came from Toyota itself. The first covers the power sliding door on certain 2011-2016 Sienna minivans: if the door opens while the vehicle is moving, the risk of injury increases. The second covers the front seat belts on vehicles built February 15 to 19, 2016, where the seat belt height adjuster can fail and detach. The other three came from mobility-van upfitters building on the Sienna. Vantage Mobility International recalled AMS Genesis wheelchair vans over the rubber brake hoses that attach to the rear wheel assemblies, where contact can cause the hoses to fail and result in a loss of vehicle control. Braun Corporation recalled Sienna mobility van conversions whose brake lines may have incorrect tube nut fittings installed, causing a pressure drop that can lead to a loss of rear braking power. Rollx Vans recalled converted vans including the Sienna over wheelchair securement anchors, since an unsecured wheelchair can move during transit, increasing the risk of injury. Owners have filed 98 complaints against the 2016 Sienna, and 122 technical service bulletins have been issued for it.
