The 2009 Toyota Sienna was offered with a single engine, the 3.5L V6 (2GRFE), across the CE, LE, XLE and XLE Limited trims. This service and repair manual is written to that model year, so the figures and procedures you work to are the ones Toyota published for this Sienna rather than for an adjacent year.

Known issues on the 2009 Sienna. Seven recalls are on federal record for this model year. One covers the automatic transmission: the shift lever can be moved out of the Park position without the brake applied. One covers the structure, where the cable may break due to excessive corrosion and the spare tire may separate from the vehicle. One covers the front seat heater, where a damaged copper strand heating element may short circuit, increasing the risk of a fire. The remaining four all concern labeling: on one the GVWR is insufficient for the load carrying capacity of the vehicles; on another, incorrect load carrying capacity modification labels could result in the vehicle being overloaded; a Southeast Toyota campaign was filed for failing to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 110, tire selection and rims, under which a driver may overload a vehicle which may increase the risk of a crash; and a Gulf States Toyota campaign cites that same standard, with labeling that does not meet the standard requirements. Owners have filed 270 complaints against the 2009 Sienna and Toyota has issued 116 technical service bulletins for it.
Whether the job is a shift lever that leaves Park without the brake applied, a corroded spare tire cable underneath, or a routine service interval on the 3.5L V6, the work is held to Toyota's own procedure and to the specification published for this 2009 Sienna.
