Known issues on the 2019 Sienna. Seven recalls stand on the federal record for this model year. Two of them cover the gasoline fuel pump: if the fuel pump fails, the engine can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash. One covers the passenger-side frontal air bag inflator module — the passenger front door may have incorrect welds inside, possibly affecting the air bag sensor readings, and the incorrect air bag sensor readings could cause the affected air bags to unintentionally deploy. Two come from Braun Corporation: on certain modified 2017-2020 Toyota Sienna vehicles the steering shaft extensions may have been improperly manufactured, and if a steering shaft extension completely fractures it can cause a loss of steering; on certain 2014-2019 Toyota Sienna mobility van conversions the brake lines may have incorrect tube nut fittings installed, which may cause a pressure drop, and the reduction in the braking system pressure may cause a loss of braking power. The remaining two are equipment label recalls from regional distributors — Southeast Toyota Distributors on certain 2017-2019 Camry, Corolla, Rav4, Sienna and Yaris iA vehicles equipped with factory-installed floor mats, where an incorrect label may lead to unintentionally overloading the vehicle, and Gulf States Toyota on certain 2019 vehicles including the Sienna, where a driver who cannot read the label may unknowingly overload the vehicle. The 2019 Sienna also carries 58 owner complaints and 142 technical service bulletins on the same record.
