Known issues on the 2021 Sierra. Seven recalls are recorded. Two describe a transmission control valve that can fail and lock the rear wheels. Another covers connecting rod and crankshaft manufacturing defects in the 6.2L V8 that can damage the engine and lead to failure. Seat belt hardware appears twice as well, once for brackets left unsecured to the front-row center seat frame and once for incorrect fastening bolts. Complaints number 551, with 195 on the engine, 130 on the power train and 54 on the electrical system, the same territory the recalls occupy.
