2009 GMC Sierra Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2009 GMC Sierra covers a crew cab pickup offered in Base and Denali trim, with a choice between the 376-cubic-inch 6.2L V8 set up to run flex fuel and the 325-cubic-inch 5.3L V8 on gasoline. Both are overhead-valve and naturally aspirated, but their fuel systems are not interchangeable, and the manual keeps specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics separated wherever that difference matters on the bench.

- 5.3L V8 (325 cu in) — OHV, naturally aspirated, gasoline

Known issues on the 2009 Sierra. Four recalls are on the federal record. Three concern the front passenger air bag inflator, which can explode as it deploys and drive sharp metal fragments at the driver and other occupants; those campaigns were limited to trucks first sold or registered in certain states. The fourth covers fire extinguishers supplied with the vehicle that may become clogged and fail to discharge. Owners have logged 280 complaints, with 131 on the air bags, 28 on the electrical system and 22 on the structure, so restraint diagnostics and body wiring earn their keep here.
