Known issues on the 2017 Sierra. Five recalls stand against this model year. Brake booster vacuum can drop as the pump ages, so the pedal gets harder and stops get longer. A failing wheel speed sensor could trigger the driveline protection function at highway speed and brake one wheel unbidden, pulling the truck to one side. Front air bags and belt pretensioners could also fail to fire in a crash that called for them. With 427 complaints, 134 on the power train, 99 on service brakes and 46 on the electrical system, the driveline and brake chapters see the most traffic.
