Known issues on the 2020 A6. Nine recalls are on federal record for this model year. Rear axle misalignment may go uninspected after an earlier repair, leading to premature or uneven tire wear and raising crash risk. A defective score line on the passenger air bag can prevent proper deployment and eject plastic debris into the cabin. A broken lock nut on the rear trailing arm, caused by stress corrosion, can misalign the rear axle and cause loss of control. Moisture entering the starter generator on mild-hybrid 2.0 TFSI cars can short-circuit and increase fire risk. The passenger air bag may fail to deploy properly through the instrument panel tear seam, again risking plastic debris injury. A fuel level sender can stick and display an inaccurate reading, raising the risk of an unexpected stall. Liquid spilled in the rear seat can penetrate and shut down the gateway control module, suddenly cutting engine power. An incorrectly labeled brake fluid cap may have led to the wrong brake fluid being used, reducing braking ability. And a software error can keep the rearview camera image from displaying, cutting the driver's view behind the car.
