2012 Audi A6 Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 2012 A6. Eight recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two separate campaigns cover the electric coolant pump on the 2.0L Turbo FSI engine: debris can block it or moisture can short it out, and in either case the pump can overheat and increase the risk of a fire. The Passenger Occupant Detection System is covered by two recalls as well: stress or wear of the front passenger seat's body-sensing mat can cause the PODS control module to malfunction, and separately, in vehicles with heated and cooled seats, the PODS module may malfunction and prevent the passenger-side air bag from deploying in a crash. Two fuel-system recalls address a fuel line with a compression point that can weaken and a fuel hose that can degrade, either of which can leak fuel near an ignition source and increase fire risk; a related recall covers a fuel injection system leak with the same fire risk. The eighth recall covers a stitching defect in the head curtain air bag that can keep it from deploying and protecting an occupant in a crash. Owners have filed 59 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins are logged. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
From tracing a coolant pump fault to servicing the fuel lines or checking PODS seat-sensor wiring, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2012 A6.
