Known issues on the 2007 A6. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year, and three of them trace back to the same passenger frontal air bag inflator module: degraded propellant can cause the inflator to explode or rupture, sending sharp metal fragments toward the driver and other occupants and risking serious injury or death. The fourth covers the automatic trunk lid, where a strut that loses pressure can be misread by the system's software as a manual close command, causing the lid to shut rapidly and creating a risk of injury.
