One covers the front passenger Occupant Classification System: stress or wear on the body-sensing mat in the seat can cause the module to malfunction, so the front passenger air bag may not deploy properly in a crash. Two separate recalls cover the electric coolant pump on the 2.0L Turbo FSI engine, which can become blocked with cooling-system debris or short-circuit from moisture, overheat, and increase the risk of a fire. A fourth covers the fuel line, where a compression point can weaken and leak fuel, which raises fire risk in the presence of an ignition source.
