Known issues on the 2018 Equinox. The federal record carries five recalls against the 2018 Equinox. One covers rear brake caliper pistons finished with too little coating, letting gas pockets form so rear braking weakens. Another covers a high-pressure fuel pump that can work loose from its mounting flange and damage the fuel line it feeds, opening a leak. A third covers the right front intermediate driveshaft, which can fracture and separate, stopping propulsion or letting a parked vehicle move on its own. Complaints total 403 and lead with the service brakes at 95, the power train at 62 and the electrical system at 48.
