Known issues on the 2017 Sierra 2500 HD. The optional engine-block heater accounts for two of the six recalls filed against this truck, its cord or terminals liable to short circuit, damage engine components and raise a fire risk. Another concerns trucks with the dual fuel tank option, where the rear tank can collapse so the pump cannot transfer fuel forward and the engine stalls. A fourth concerns front seat belt retractors assembled with the wrong torsion bar. Two more concern frontal air bags and pretensioners that may not deploy. Of 98 owner complaints, 27 name the power train and 20 the service brakes, both covered here through diagnostics, specifications and torque values.
