This factory service and repair manual for the 2011 GMC Sierra 2500 HD picks up Denali on the trim list, alongside SLE, SLT and WT. Engine choice stays at two, the 6.6L turbocharged diesel V8 of 403 cubic inches and the 6.0L overhead-valve gasoline or flex-fuel V8 of 364 cubic inches, and the truck was built as a 4-door crew cab pickup, a 4-door extended cab pickup or a 2-door standard cab pickup. Known issues on the 2011 Sierra 2500 HD. Four recalls are on the federal record. Two involve frontal air bag inflators whose propellant can degrade with heat and humidity until the inflator explodes and throws metal fragments at the occupants. A third involves a fire extinguisher supplied with the truck that may clog and fail to work when needed. The fourth involves current drawn through the trailer harness on trucks with an auxiliary battery, which can melt a fusible link and damage the wiring around it. Of 106 owner complaints, 29 name the air bags, then the structure and the power train. Restraint and trailer wiring diagnostics are documented here.
