Known issues on the 2009 Sierra 2500 HD. Five recalls are on the federal record. Three of them concern frontal air bag inflators that can explode as the propellant breaks down in humid climates, sending sharp metal into the cabin. One concerns a fire extinguisher supplied with the truck that can clog and fail to discharge. The last concerns an auxiliary battery arrangement where excess current through the trailer harness melts a fusible link and can damage nearby wiring.
