A weld defect and, separately, an adhesion defect in the instrument panel are each documented to cause partial or inconsistent front passenger air bag deployment, and the front driver air bag inflator itself is subject to a rupture recall that can send metal fragments into the cabin. Overheated exhaust components have been linked to melted nearby plastics and a fire risk, and a missing transfer case component can lock the front or rear wheels without warning on 4WD models. Owners have filed 103 complaints for the year, and the factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind every one of these systems are in this manual.
