Known issues on the 2009 Escalade. Five recalls are on federal record for this model year. Three separate campaigns cover the passenger-side frontal air bag inflator module, which can explode and send sharp metal fragments toward the driver or other occupants, causing serious injury or death. A fourth covers the fuel system control module, where water can seep past a degraded seal and cause a short or open circuit, triggering the service engine lamp or leaving the truck hard to start, unable to start, or prone to stalling. The fifth covers the heated washer fluid module, which can ignite and start a fire. Owners have filed 58 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins are logged. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems are here.
From tracing a no-start fuel module fault to inspecting the washer fluid heater circuit or a routine hybrid service interval, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2009 Escalade.
