Known issues on the 2013 Escalade. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year. Two separate campaigns cover the passenger-side frontal air bag inflator module, which can explode and send sharp metal fragments into the driver or other occupants, causing serious injury or death. A third covers the chassis electronic control module, which can become internally contaminated and short electrically, causing the vehicle to stall and raising the risk of a crash. The fourth covers the steering column's anti-theft locking device, which can let the vehicle shift out of Park with the key removed or off, or without the brake pedal applied, allowing it to roll away after the driver has exited.
