Known issues on the 2005 Escalade. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first covers the shift lever position indicator, which under certain starting conditions may fail to illuminate, leaving the driver unsure which gear the vehicle is in and risking the vehicle moving in an unintended direction. The second covers the second-row center seat belt, whose routing can prevent the lap portion from sitting low on the hips, raising the risk of abdominal and internal organ injury in a crash. The third covers certain aftermarket FRAM replacement fuel filters whose connector was not manufactured to spec, which can keep the O-ring from seating correctly on the fuel line and lead to a fuel leak and, near an ignition source, a fire. The fourth covers certain aftermarket Federal-Mogul wheel hub assemblies, where the inboard retention nut used to maintain the hub bearing assembly can loosen and cause an ABS light indication, noise, and/or wheel separation.
