Known issues on the 2013 2500. Thirteen recalls appear on the federal record for the 2013 2500. On certain trucks powered by the diesel inline-six and fitted with a particular brand of water pump that lacked a vent hole, the pump could leak coolant and raise the risk of a fire under the hood; the pumps were replaced. Certain trucks fitted with a particular alternator could see it fail without warning, either stalling the engine or shorting and starting a fire, and a revised alternator was installed.
