2012 Ram 2500 Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 2012 2500. The 2012 2500 has been named in 4 recalls. Certain four-wheel-drive trucks could have the left tie rod assembly break, which can take away steering control; the steering linkage was inspected and replaced where needed. Certain trucks built within a defined window with an optional information-display package could have the steering wheel wiring harness wear against an air bag spring until it shorted, setting off the driver air bag unexpectedly. Owners filed 282 complaints, led by steering (109), the electrical system (51) and engine (44); 12 complaints reported a fire and 8 a crash.
