Known issues on the 2011 Forester. Sixteen recalls name the 2011 Forester. One applies to certain 2011 Forester vehicles fitted with a replacement mechanical-key ignition switch, in which a spring inside the switch can break, and the key's weight plus road bumps may then turn it to accessory and shut down the engine, with the air bag possibly not deploying afterward. Certain 2011 Forester vehicles also have a front seat belt force limiter that may not perform in a crash.
