2006 GMC Savana 1500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2006 GMC Savana 1500 reflects a wider body lineup than before, with three-door and four-door versions of both the standard cargo van and the standard passenger van, and trims listed as Base, LS and LT. The engines are the 5.3L V8 and the 4.3L V6, overhead-valve and naturally aspirated on gasoline. Known issues on the 2006 Savana 1500. Seven recalls are on the federal record. A power steering hose built out of specification can fracture and lose fluid during hard steering, taking power assist and, on vans with hydraulic brake boost, some braking help with it. Seat belt buckles may refuse to latch or unlatch. Platform-style wheelchair lifts could move unintentionally and injure their user, and wiring for the optional rear climate system can overheat. Owner complaints are modest at ten, three of them on the steering and two on the engine, both systems documented in detail here.
