Known issues on the 1998 Savana 1500. Two recalls are on the federal record. The serious one concerns front brake rotor and hub assemblies cast from out-of-specification gray iron, which can crack in service; left alone, the cracks can travel around the wheel mounting bolt circle until the wheel separates from the van. The other covers aftermarket combination corner and bumper lamp assemblies that do not meet the federal lighting standard. Owner complaints total 33, with nine on the service brakes, six on the air bags and four on the electrical system, all covered in the diagnostic sections.
