This factory service and repair manual for the 2006 Chevrolet Express 1500 has four bodies to account for: cargo and passenger vans in three-door and four-door configurations, sold as Base, LS or LT. Known issues on the 2006 Express 1500. The federal record holds eight recalls for this year. One is a power steering hose built out of specification that can fracture during a hard lock-to-lock maneuver; the leak costs steering assist and, on vans with hydraulic brake boost, braking assist as well. Several others cover platform wheelchair lifts whose interlocks miss the presence of a user, letting the lift move or stow with someone aboard, and one covers belt buckles that will not latch or release. Eighteen complaints are recorded, spread thinly across structure, the electrical system and air bags.
