2002 GMC Yukon XL 2500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2002 GMC Yukon XL 2500 pairs a 364-cubic-inch 6.0L V8 with a 496-cubic-inch 8.1L V8, both overhead-valve, naturally aspirated and fueled by gasoline, in one 4-door sport utility body sold as SLE or SLT. The two engines share little beyond their layout, so most of the engine mechanical, cooling and fuel material is given twice, once for each, while the transmission, axle, brake and body electrical sections apply across the whole range.

Known issues on the 2002 Yukon XL 2500. A pair of recalls sits on the federal record. One deals with replacement wheel hub assemblies in which the inboard retention nut can loosen; the early signs are noise and an antilock warning, and the end of that path is wheel separation. The other covers antilock brake systems that could switch on when they were not needed, lengthening stops at low speed, a condition worst where road salt is used. Complaints total 342: 147 on the service brakes, 23 on engine and engine cooling and 20 on the electrical system, and brake hydraulics, antilock control and cooling are the chapters that answer them.
