Known issues on the 1999 Odyssey. Nine recalls are on federal record for this model year. One covers the driver-side front air bag inflator, which can rupture on deployment and send metal fragments toward occupants or leave the cushion underinflated. Two cover the ignition switch: on one, degraded electrical contacts can stall the engine without warning; on the other, excessive switch wear can let the key be removed without the transmission shifted into Park, allowing the vehicle to roll. Three cover the sliding door latch system, where the doors may fail to latch properly or a grease-clogged power lock actuator can delay the latch lever, letting a door open while the van is moving. One covers the instrument panel dimmer control, which can fail and leave the driver unable to read the gauges at night. One covers a vehicle speed control fault where ice can form in the throttle body in cold, wet weather and hold the throttle open after the driver lifts off the pedal.
