1999 Chevrolet Lumina Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1999 Chevrolet Lumina documents a four-door sedan sold in Base, LS and LTZ form with two naturally aspirated pushrod V6s: 189 cubic inches and 231 cubic inches, both gasoline. Neither uses forced induction or overhead cams, so their service procedures rhyme, while their clearances, timing figures and torque values do not interchange. The rest of the car — transmission, brakes, steering, suspension, body and electrical — is documented once for the range.

Known issues on the 1999 Lumina. Three recalls appear on the federal record. Two concern oil reaching a hot exhaust manifold, where it can flare and carry fire into the plastic spark plug wire channel and the surrounding engine bay; one of those covers cars that had already been through earlier repairs for the same condition. The third covers replacement fuel pressure regulators assembled without a sealing ring, which can leak fuel. Owner complaints total 112 and follow the same emphasis: 39 on engine and cooling, 22 on service brakes, seven on steering.
