This factory service and repair manual for the 1992 Chevrolet Lumina spans three engines and two bodies. Three trims are listed — Base, Euro and Z34 — alongside a two-door coupe and a four-door sedan, and the engine choice runs from a 151-cubic-inch overhead-valve inline-four through a 189-cubic-inch overhead-valve V6 to the 207-cubic-inch twin-cam V6, each naturally aspirated and gasoline-fueled. The book puts those differences where they matter, in the engine, fuel and ignition specifications, rather than averaging them into one set of numbers.

Known issues on the 1992 Lumina. Four recalls stand on the federal record here. One is a transmission fault: the reverse servo apply pin can bind in the case, which shows up as a slipping or dragging reverse band and, at worst, as a car still engaged in reverse while the indicator reads neutral, so it can move rearward unexpectedly. Another covers fuel leaking at the tank fill and vent pipe solder joints, which can ignite. A third involves replacement fuel pressure regulators missing their sealing ring, again a leak and fire risk. Of 444 complaints, 188 are on service brakes, 49 on the electrical system and 36 on engine and cooling.
