Known issues on the 1991 Lumina. The federal record carries six recalls for the 1991 Lumina. Front door shoulder belt guide loops can crack, so the belt no longer restrains an occupant properly in a sudden stop. Corrosion at the cradle bolt retainers lets the bolts pull through, dropping the support at the mounting points, and at the front that can separate the steering intermediate shaft from the steering gear; a second campaign covers the same corrosion at the rear. Replacement fuel pressure regulators built without their sealing ring can leak fuel and start a fire. Complaints total 425: 216 on service brakes, 45 on the structure, 33 on engine and cooling.
